This Gorgeous Hideaway Has To Be The Best Resort To Stay On Your Smoky Mountains Trip

Just a short distance from Gatlinburg, Tennessee, with its shopping, dining, and entertainment options, lies a peaceful retreat of cozy cabins near the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Under a canopy of tall trees that shelter two running creeks, Creekside Hideaway is an oasis of natural beauty that features several updated vacation homes with luxurious amenities. Plan a stay at this Smoky Mountain hideaway the next time you want to enjoy the activities in downtown Gatlinburg or spend a few days hiking in the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You could also visit when you feel like relaxing under trees as a way to escape from the hectic pace of everyday life.

All cabins are air-conditioned and tastefully furnished, with a kitchen, washer, dryer, and Wi-Fi access in each lodging. The interactive map on the resort's website is an excellent tool to give visitors an overview of the property and where each cabin is situated. For example, you may choose a cabin that overlooks the freshwater pond that features catch-and-release fishing, or you may select a cottage set back among the trees. When you click on a lodging choice, it provides the name of the home as well as its size and amenities. You can also enter the preferred dates of your stay, and the map will highlight which cabins are available. The map makes it easy to find the right match for your vacation needs.

Relax in a luxurious cabin

As you search the choices of accommodations at Creekside Hideaway, there are several types of cabins to choose from, whether it's a large gathering for a family reunion or a small weekend getaway. A big group might consider staying at the Rock Cottage, which can sleep up to 12 guests. This cottage offers four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a game room, and a movie theater. The Modern Farmhouse Cabin can sleep up to six guests, with a main bedroom, a loft bedroom, and an additional pair of bunk beds tucked away in a corridor. For a more intimate getaway, the Bluegill Cabin and the Woodpecker Cabin are examples of several waterfront tiny homes. Each home can sleep up to four guests with a bedroom, bathroom, and bunk beds with tranquil pond views.

Most of the cabins have either a firepit or an outdoor fireplace, and many also provide a charcoal grill. Firewood and other supplies are available for purchase by visiting the quaint Creekside Shed. Originally the property's well pump house, this small outbuilding has been transformed into a firewood storage facility that provides fuel for visitors on a self-service basis. Guests can purchase a bundle of firewood, lighter fluid, matches, and charcoal for the grill. The purchases are made online, with instructions on the email receipt that include directions to the shed and the door code needed for entry.

Watch the sunset from a Hot Tug

One of the most enjoyable activities at Creekside Hideaway is a relaxing ride in one of its Hot Tugs, a combination of a hot tub and a tug boat. These boats are imported from the Netherlands specifically for the enjoyment of the Creekside Hideaway guests. Available on Thursdays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the boats are filled with fresh water heated by woodfire up to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Fairy lights are suspended overhead, and a built-in cooler is on the side of the boat. During an evening float in a Hot Tug, up to six guests can comfortably relax and enjoy the sunset as they drift across the water. Guests are provided with instructions on how to steer the boats and adjust the water temperature.

There is no restaurant on the property, but the kitchen in each home is fully equipped for meal preparation. There are several grocery stores nearby to purchase supplies, or guests may choose to enjoy a local restaurant in the Gatlinburg area. When bringing food into the cabin, remember that you may also be inviting wildlife to travelerblog your provisions, such as the bears who live in the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A stay at Creekside Hideaway is a great way to feel immersed in nature, enjoy time outdoors with friends and loved ones, and escape in a beautiful Smoky Mountain setting.
