Hawaii Volcanoes National Park: 5 Things To See And Do

5 Things to See and Do:
1. Go on a day hike
Hike the Kilauea Summit Trails, the Earthquake Trail, Devastation Trail and Crater Rim Trails. Also hike the Chain of Craters Road Trails! Don't forget your permit... you are going to need it for an incredible experience overnight backcountry hiking. *Tip: For an easy trail, walk the Kipukapuaula.
2. Visit the beautiful Holei Sea Arch
The Holei Sea Arch is found at the end of Chain of Craters road. Make sure you bring your camera to capture the waves as they hit the rocks right under the beautiful Holei Sea Arch.
3. Visit the Thurston Lava Tube
Looking for an amazing lava experience? Look no further, take a 20 minute walk through the forest then you will reach the Thurston Lava Tube. Be silent, listen to the birds and experience how lava moves underground. *Remember, hundreds of years ago hot lava rushed through exactly where you are standing!
4. Check out the Thomas A. Jagger Museum
Don't forget to visit the Thomas A. Jagger Museum. Get a good look at the geologic displays and view the numerous videos about the study of volcanoes. The museum is open daily from 8:30am-5:00pm.
5. "After Dark in the Park"
"After Dark in the Park" is a free lecture sponsored by the Hawaii Natural History Association and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Talks are Tuesday's at 7pm at the Kilauea Visitor Center. Click here for the "After Dark in the Park" program guide.
